China Shakes The World: A Titan’s Rise And Troubled Future – And The Challenge For America is too long. The name that is, the book itself is actually an easy read and worth the time. James Kynge writes an interesting book which raises many more questions than it answers. Basing most of his observations on economic foundations, Kynge discusses many facets of China today, such as some effects of China’s large population, its quickly evolving economy, political corruption, and foreign policy.
Kynge shows that China has huge problems facing it from its own population and that almost all of its actions for the last thirty years have been driven by attempts to solve them. Recognizing that this will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future should be the basis for anyone trying to understand China’s actions to come.
